About Me

Throughout my life, there was always one topic I was unlimitedly interested in. You probably guessed it by now. Relationships! The secrets, dynamics, powers, and beauty of interpersonal relationships has shaped my life and has also led you to read this part on my website.

I will try to make my story of who I am short but also meaningful because if there is one reason I am writing this bio today is because it means the world to me.

After I started studying psychology I read this study conducted by Harvard University around relationships. It was the longest study ever conducted and the conclusion was one; Success, money, big houses, expensive cars, and bags played no role in people's happiness. It was relationships that determined peoples' happiness throughout the years. That really locked my interest in. Since then I read every book and study under the sun to understand and learn more about the beautiful paradox of relationships that we need in order to survive and be happy but who at the same time also torment us from time to time.

But I was never only interested in one thing, and along the way, I got drawn into the corporate world where all I could notice once more was how people interacted with each other, how specific things were said or asked, how leaders interacted with their teams and how managers were running their business from a human perspective. Starting of course from the bottom I had a very clear picture of how people working in various positions were getting motivated or unfortunately in most cases, demotivated.

I remember working in a company back in Greece with quite high attrition and a very bad work culture. Everybody was deeply demotivated and lacking even the basic energy to do their job properly after a while and I couldn't blame them. I could see it all so clearly and I remember wondering "How is it possible that the managers (we had 3) don't understand what they need to do to drive people and make them actually happy and motivated to work for them?"

And this is how I left Greece. I came to the Netherlands to marry my interest in relationships with my passion for change in the corporate world by doing a master's in Work and Organizational Psychology.

The experience I gained through the following years has been invaluable. I got the chance to manage my own team within an organization that gave me the freedom and space to do it my way and that's when all the dots connected. That's when I realized that leadership and relationship coaching are intertwined to the core!

I never had a single conversation with a member of my team about their performance, motivation, way of working, goals, dreams, future achievements or shortcomings that was not personal.

I think it's the Americans that have a saying "It's just business" and how wrong they are.

I love working with people whether that is on personal relationships or "professional" relationships, to challenge the social constructs that dictate how we should be acting and reacting and who sometimes make us crumble under their weight, to explore needs and expectations deeply and of course do the hardest thing of all - hold up the mirror and motivate change.

If you read so far in my story thank you. This is also a relationship and it's important that you know who I am and why I do what I do.
